Privacy

What we collect. If you fill in the checklist signup form, we receive the email address and any fields you enter. The form is handled by Netlify, our hosting provider, and the submissions are stored in our Netlify account. Nothing you type into the on-page checklist builder leaves your browser unless you submit that form.

Analytics. This site may use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are used. If it is active, Google sets cookies and receives your IP address and page views under Google's privacy policy. We use the aggregate numbers to decide which troubleshooters to improve.

Session memory. The troubleshooter stores your answers for the current symptom in your browser's session storage so the result page can show what you answered. It is cleared when you close the tab and never sent to us.

Outbound links. Links to Amazon open Amazon's site, which has its own privacy policy. Links to manufacturer and safety sources in the references list do the same.

Your choices. Email us to have a form submission deleted. You can block cookies in your browser without losing any feature of this site.

Contact. Use the signup form on the checklist page and write your request in the notes field, and we will reply to the address you give.
